Ceftriaxone is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering which is needed for them to survive.
Uses
Used to treat bacterial infection, brain respiratory tract, urinary tract and kidney, bones joints, typhoid, paratyphoid and sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhea, syphilis).
Side Effects
Local reaction, hypersensitivity, hematologic effects, diarrhea, vaginal yeast infection, rash, itching/swelling, severe dizziness, and trouble breathing.
Precautions / Concerns
Avoids if patients are allergic to Ceftriaxone. Do not take if patients having stomach/intestinal diseases, gall bladder disease.
