This medicine is used for the treatment of problems arising due to diminished estrogen production after the menopause (usually around the age of 50) and after surgical removal of the ovary. It also promotes wound healing before or after vaginal surgery.

Estriol belongs to a class of drugs called estrogens. In women who are undergoing or have attained menopause, it prevents symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats and mood swings. It also prevents the bones from becoming porous and fragile (osteoporosis).

• Headache
• Skin rash
• Breast enlargement
• Feeling very tired or weak
• Vaginal discharge
• Nausea and vomiting

• This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women.
• This medicine should be used with caution in patients with asthma due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.
• This medicine should be used with caution in patients with diabetes (increased blood sugar levels) due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.
• This medicine has been associated with an increased risk of stroke, heart attack, and other complications associated with the heart.
• This medicine may cause yellowing of the eyes and skin due to its effect on the liver and the gall-bladder. 
• Use of this medicine can increase the risk of gallbladder diseases, especially in postmenopausal women.
