Capecitabine is an anticancer medication. Inside the body, this medicine gets
converted into 5-fluorouracil (chemical). This chemical hampers the synthesis of
genetic materials (RNA and DNA) in the cancer cells, thereby interferes with their
growth. This slows down the growth of cancer cells and eventually kills them.

Severe and sometimes deadly bleeding problems have happened in people
taking capecitabine with some blood thinners like warfarin.
It should be used only under the supervision of a qualified healthcare
professional. It may cause severe liver and kidney injury if taken in high
quantities. Close monitoring of blood cell count is necessary while receiving
this medicine.
Frequency of hair loss is much less compared to other chemotherapy drugs.
Do not take it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
