• Use of this medicine may increase the levels of aluminum in the blood. This risk is especially higher in patients suffering from kidney diseases. 
• This medicine may decrease the phosphate levels in the blood on prolonged use. Report symptoms such as a loss of appetite, feeling of discomfort, muscle weakness, etc. to the doctor immediately.
• This medicine may cause fecal impaction in some patients; a large or hardened mass of stool that gets stuck in the rectum or lower colon due to chronic constipation. This risk is especially higher in elderly patients
