Moxifloxacin
  • Moxifloxacin belongs to the class of medicines known as quinolone antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth.
  • Moxifloxacin is a prescription drug. It comes as an oral tablet and an ophthalmic solution.
  • Moxifloxacin is an antibiotic.
Uses
  • Moxifloxacin is used in the treatment of bacterial infections.
  • It is also used in infections of urinary tract, tonsils, sinus, nose, throat, female genital organ, skin &amp; soft tissues and lungs (pneumonia).
  • It is also used to treat and prevent plague.

Precautions / Concerns
  •  Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  •  Discontinue Moxifloxacin and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
Ketorolac Tromethamine

Ketorolac is a Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation

Uses
  • It's analgesic properties make it a useful pain management tool across many settings including postoperative pain, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, menstrual disorders, headaches, spinal and soft tissue pain, and ankylosing spondylitis.
  • It is a useful opioid sparing agent.
Side Effects
  • Abdominal pain,
  • Gastrointestinal pain,
  • Dyspepsia,
  • headache,
  • Increased liver enzymes,
  • Increased serum alanine aminotransferase,
  • Increased serum aspartate aminotransferase,
  • Nausea.
  • Diarrhea,

  • Edema.

  • Hypertension

Ketorolac may cause serious side effects, especially when taken improperly.

 

Precautions / Concerns
  • Ketorolac is used for the short-term relief of moderately severe pain and should not be used for longer than 5 days, for mild pain, or for pain from chronic (long-term) conditions.
  • The risk may be higher for people who take NSAIDs for a long time, are older in age, have poor health, or drink large amounts of alcohol while taking ketorolac.
  • Discontinue if symptoms of liver toxicity develop.
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may increase risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, myocardial infarction (MI), and stroke, which can be fatal. Patients treated with NSAIDs following heart attack reported to be more likely to die in first year of heart attack compared to patients not treated with NSAIDs after first heart attack.
  • NSAIDs increase risk of serious gastrointestinal (GI) adverse events, including bleeding, ulceration, and gastric or intestinal perforation, which can be fatal.
