Elemental Manganese
Manganese is a nutrient needed for formation of cholesterol, proteins and carbohydrates. It is also needed in bone formation.
Uses
Used for manganese deficiency,
Side Effects
Taking high doses of manganese can result in parkinson like symptoms (shaking)
Precautions / Concerns
Doses must be strictly followed according to prescription. Notify doctor if you have liver disease and this affects the dosage. Iron deficiency anemia patients absorb more manganese so notify doctor if you suffer from this condition. Inhaling manganese is dangerous in any dose. Manganese decreases amount of quinolones and tetracycline antibiotics absorption.
Calcium Pantothenate

Calcium Pantothenate is used in a combination with other vitamins to treat vitamin deficiency conditions.

It may also be used in a combination with other vitamins to lower the levels of lipids and cholesterol in the body.

Uses

Calcium Pantothenate is the calcium salt of pantothenic acid.

Side Effects

Major & minor side effects for Calcium Pantothenate

  • Severe skin rash and hives
  • Blistering and peeling of skin
  • Difficulty in breathing
  • Difficulty in swallowing
  • Hoarseness of voice
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

 

Precautions / Concerns

This supplement is considered safe for consumption by pregnant and breastfeeding women within the recommended dietary allowance.

Calcium Pantothenate may interact with many other supplements and may cause severe adverse effects. 

This supplement may be prescribed alone or in a combination with other medicines/supplements for a host of other conditions. 

This supplement should be used with caution in patients with an active disorder of the blood like anemia, thrombocytopenia, blood clotting disorders, etc.

This supplement should be used with caution in patients with a history of any gastrointestinal disorders due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects.

It is recommended to first make a dietary modification to treat the deficiency of pantothenic acid.

Elemental Calcium
Bones and teeth have large amounts of calcium; blood, muscles and other tissues have calcium as well. Supplemental calcium replenishes any deficiency.
Uses
Used to treat hypocalcemia. Calcium is also needed for the nervous system, muscle or joint, bones, and heart problems.
Side Effects
Intestinal problems, diarrhea, skin redness, sweating, and sensation.
Precautions / Concerns
Avoid if a patients are allergic to Elemental calcium. Do not take if a patients has heart disease, kidney disease. Do not take with digoxin, ketoconazole, levomethadyl, licorice. Consult with the doctor in case of breastfeeding and lactation.
Elemental Copper
Copper is a mineral which is needed for RBC formation and various other body functions.
Uses
It is used for copper deficiency and its resultant anemia, for osteoporosis with other minerals.
Side Effects
Copper in high doses can cause nausea, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, fever, stomach pain, low blood pressure, anemia, and heart problems.
Precautions / Concerns
Take only the prescribed dose of copper and high dosage is dangerous. Copper decreases the amount of penicillamine absorbed by the body.
Elemental Magnesium
Magnesium is required for the function of bones, muscles, nerves and many other parts of the body. It neutralizes acid in the stomach and increases stool movement.
Uses
Magnesium is used to treat magnesium deficiency, constipation, indigestion, High blood pressure of pregnancy (pre eclampsia and eclampsia), irregular heart beat, leg cramps and seizures.
Side Effects
May cause stomach upset, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Precautions / Concerns
Large doses may cause irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure, slowed breathing, coma. Only take the prescribed amount.
