SALT COMPOSITION
Ambroxol Hydrochloride 15.00 mg/5ml + Guaiphenesin 50.00 mg/5ml + Menthol 1.50 mg/5ml + Terbutaline 1.25 mg/5ml
Ambroxol Hydrochloride

Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent which reduces the thickness of the sputum in the nose, windpipe and lungs making it easier to cough out.

Uses

It is used to treat conditions with abnormal mucus secretion, allowing the patient to breathe freely and deeply. It is used in all kinds of bronchiectasis. During acute exacerbations of bronchitis it should be given with the appropriate antibiotic.

Side Effects
  • Nausea and Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Gastrointestinal side effects
  • Skin rash and itching
Precautions / Concerns
  • Do not use Ambroxol for more than 14 days, without your doctor’s advice.
  • Inform your doctor if you have suffered or are currently suffering from anystomach, liver or kidney problem. 
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
Guaiphenesin
Uses
Used to treat cough and chest congestion.
Side Effects
Stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, dizziness and skin rash.
Precautions / Concerns
Do not use this medicament in a Child under 6 years of age. Avoid if patient have asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, porphyearia, pulmonary disease. Consult with the doctor in case of pregnancy and lactation.
Menthol
Uses
Used to treat pruritis, cough, strains, sprains, bruises and pain.
Side Effects
Allergic reaction such as swelling, rashes, burning, irritation, hypersensitivity, sensation of skin and stomach bleeding.
Precautions / Concerns
Avoid if patients are allergic to menthol. Do not take with warfarin, NSAID Drugs, aspirin. Consult with the doctor during lactation and pregnancy.
Terbutaline
  • Terbutaline belongs to the family of medicines known as bronchodilators. Bronchodilators are medicines that relax the muscles in the bronchial tubesand widens airways (air passages) of the lungs. They relieve cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, and troubled breathing by increasing the flow of air through the bronchial tubes.
  • Terbutaline comes as an oral tablet, and as an intravenous (IV) form that’s only given by a healthcare provider.



 

Uses

Terbutaline is used to prevent bronchospasm in patients 12 years of age and older with asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung diseases.

Side Effects
  • Shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  • trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  • Less common
  • Extra heartbeat
  • feeling faint, dizzy, or lightheadedness
  • feeling of warmth or heat
  • flushing or redness of the skin, especially on the face and neck
  • headache
  • sweating
  • decreased potassium level in blood

 

Precautions / Concerns
  • Terbutaline should not be used to stop or prevent premature labor in pregnant women, especially in women who are not in a hospital.
  • Terbutaline has caused serious side effects, including death, in pregnant women who took the medication for this purpose.
  • Terbutaline has also caused serious side effects in newborns whose mothers took the medication to stop or prevent labor.
