Dutasteride is used alone or in combination, to treat men who have symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland, which is also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Dutasteride helps improve urinary flow and may also reduce your need for prostate surgery later on.
Dutasteride is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It blocks an enzyme which is necessary to change testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate to grow.It helps to shrink the prostate and relieve the symptoms like difficulty in passing urine.

It may take 3 to 6 months to see the full beneficial effect of Dutasteride. Hence, continue taking the medicine as advised by your doctor.
Dutasteride is usually well tolerated. However, it may produce some mild sexual side effects such as low sexual drive.
Do not donate blood for 6 months after taking the last dose of Dutasteride.
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a history of liver disease or active liver disease due to an increased risk of liver injury.
Dutasteride is not recommended for use in women and children.
Silodosin is used to treat men who have symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland, which is also known as benign enlargement of the prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH).
Silodosin is an alpha blocker. It works by relaxing muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily.

This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women.
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver function impairment due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.
This medicine should be used with caution in the elderly patients due to the increased risk of a very low blood pressure.
Use of this medicine increases the risk of intraoperative floppy iris syndrome.
Use of this medicine may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, dizziness, etc. in some patient.
