Calcipotriol is a synthetic vitamin D derivative used for the treatment of plaque psoriasis in adults and children above 6 years of age.
It may be used alone or in a combination with other medicines.

- Darkening of skin
- Dandruff formation
- Infection in the hair follicle
- Dry mouth
- Change in taste/ Metallic taste
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless necessary.
This medicine may interact with other medicines and may cause severe adverse effects.
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients receiving ultraviolet radiation treatment for psoriasis due to the increased risk of skin cancer.
This medicine should be used with caution in the elderly patients since the risk of adverse effects is significantly higher.
This medicine should not be applied on the face since severe itching, redness, or irritation may develop.
This medicine should not be used in patients suffering from hypercalcemia (elevated blood calcium levels) or patients with an evidence of vitamin D toxicity since it may worsen the patient's condition.
Patients are advised to avoid excessive exposure to sunlight (natural and artificial both) during treatment with this medicine.
