It is used to treat various skin infections caused by certain kinds of bacteria.
Such infections may include impetigo and secondary infections (infections that develop after the skin has been injured) to burns or broken skin.
Sodium Fusidate is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.

- Jaundice
- Liver dysfunction
Caution should be practiced in patients with history of liver problem, jaundice, and allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Monitor liver function regularly while using this medication
Take precaution while applying the medicine around your eyes or the eyes of a child.
Cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages if suggested by the doctor.
Do not use Sodium Fusidate more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.
Before each application, wash the affected area with soap and water and dry well.
Avoid getting in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
