Etoposide is an anticancer medicine used in combination with other medicines to treat cancer of the testicles and ovaries and certain cancers of the lungs, blood, and lymphatic system.
It is usually given in combination with other cancer medicines.
Etoposide is an anti-cancer medication. It works by suppressing the activity of an enzyme (topoisomerase II) involved in DNA multiplication of the cancer cells. This slows the growth of cancer cells and eventually kills them.

Etoposide can increase your risk of bleeding or infection.
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women except in life-threatening conditions.
This medicine may cause significant bone marrow suppression in some patients. This increases the risk of life-threatening infections and other associated complications.
This medicine may cause severe hypersensitivity or anaphylactic reactions in some patients.
Etoposide is intended for slow intravenous infusion only. It must not be given by rapid intravenous injection.
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients below 18 years of age since there is limited information on the use of this medicine in such patients.
This medicine may rarely cause drowsiness in some patients.
