Pentosanpolysulfate sodium binds to the urinary bladder wall and prevents the irritating chemicals in the urine from coming in contact with the bladder wall.

This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless necessary.
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 16 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
This medicine should be used with caution in patients suffering from a liver and kidney impairment due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects.
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients who are at increased risk of bleeding or actively bleed due to the weak anticoagulant effect.
Use of this medicine may cause hair loss in some patients.
