may cause inflammation, spasm of muscles of the airways and other symptoms of
asthma and allergies.
Ketotifen is a type of asthma medication which, may reduce the frequency, severity,
and duration of asthma symptoms or attacks in children. It may also lead to a
reduction in daily requirements of other antiasthma medications. The oral forms of
this medicine are used for the treatment of allergic rhinitis; they may also be used
for the prevention of asthma attacks. The ophthalmic forms of this medicine are
used for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis.

The oral form of this medicine is not recommended for use in patients less
than 6 months of age. The ophthalmic form of this medicine is not
recommended for use in patients less than 3 years of age.
Ketotifen is not effective for the prevention or treatment of acute asthma
attacks. Ketotifen works by inhibiting certain substances in the body that are
known to cause inflammation and symptoms of asthma.
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a history of
seizure disorders due to the increased risk of recurrent seizures.
Use of this medicine may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, dizziness,
etc. in some patients.
Ophthalmic Forms: This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less
than 3 years of age. Oral Forms: This medicine is not recommended for use in
patients less than 6 months of age
