• Ascorbate calcium is used to prevent or treat low levels of vitamin C in people who do not get enough of the vitamin from their diets. This product also contains calcium.
• Vitamin C plays an important role in the body. It is needed to maintain the health of skin, cartilage, teeth, bone, and blood vessels. It is also used to protect your body's cells from damage. It is known as an antioxidant.

• Diarrhea, constipation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps/pain, or heartburn may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, visit your doctor immediately. Tell your doctor right away if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur painful urination, pink/bloody urine.
• Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

• Things to keep in mind when taking calcium ascorbate:
• Take with or without food. Take with food if it causes an upset stomach.
• Take with a full glass of water.
• This medicine prevents many other drugs from getting into the body.
• This medicine may affect certain lab tests.  Be careful if you have G6PD deficiency. Anemia may happen. If you take other drugs, check with your doctor or pharmacist to see if you need to take them at some other time than calcium ascorbate.
