Quinine is an antiparasitic medication which treats malaria. It works by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading.

- Fast heartbeat
- Low Platelet Count
- Decreased blood glucose levels
- Confusion
- Itching and skin rash
This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary.
Report the regular use of medicines taken for reducing acidity.
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases, kidney diseases, liver diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects.
Use of this medicine may cause symptoms such as spinning dizziness, blurred vision, or other visual disturbances in some patients.
This medicine is known to cause a fall in blood sugar levels upon consumption.
The use of this medicine is contraindicated in patients with low platelet count as it may lead to life-threatening adverse effects.
This medicine may cause severe allergic reactions in some patients.
This medicine is not recommended for the treatment of malaria in patients less than 10 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
