Bethanechol 75.00 mg

Bethanechol is a muscarinic agonist. It works by making the contraction of urinary bladder muscle sufficiently strong to initiate urination and empty the bladder.

Bethanechol is used in the treatment of urinary retention. It treats acute post-operative and postpartum non-obstructive (functional) urinary retention and neurogenic atony of the urinary bladder with retention.

Nausea, Vomiting, Sweating, Intestinal colic

Always take bethanechol on an empty stomach/ half an hour before food to reduce the risk of nausea. Stop bethanechol and consult your doctor immediately if you experience shortness of breath, fainting or very slow heart beat (pulse rate below 50 beats per minute).
