XALACOM is a fixed dose combination of Timolol and Latanoprost eye drops used in the treatment of glaucoma.  Together, these medications help lower intraocular pressure, preventing further damage to the optic nerve and preserving vision. XALACOM is indicated for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It should be used under the supervision of an ophthalmologist.

Put XALACOM eye drops as directed by your ophthalmologist. Tilt your head back, instill the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye(s), and then gently close your eyes. Avoid touching the tip of the dropper to prevent contamination. Wait at least 5-10 minutes before instilling any other eye drops.

• Pregnancy - XALACOM may be used during pregnancy if the potential benefits outweigh the risks. However, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
• Alcohol - No interactions have been reported between XALACOM and alcohol. However, it is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption as it may cause dry eyes and worsen the condition.
• Old Age - XALACOM can be used in the elderly population. However, caution should be exercised and regular eye examinations are recommended.
• Breast Feeding - XALACOM may be used during breastfeeding if deemed essential. However, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
• Children - The safety and effectiveness of XALACOM in children have not been established. It is not recommended for use in pediatric patients without consulting a pediatric ophthalmologist.

• Drug-Drug - There are no known significant drug-drug interactions with XALACOM. However, inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking.

• Q. How soon will I see the effects of XALACOM?
  The effects of XALACOM can usually be seen within a few weeks of starting treatment. However, individual response may vary. Regular eye check-ups are necessary to monitor progress.
• Q. Can I use contact lenses while using XALACOM?
  Contact lenses should be removed before instilling XALACOM eye drops. You may reinsert your contact lenses 15 minutes after using the eye drops.
• Q. What should I do if I miss a dose of XALACOM?
  If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not double dose to make up for the missed dose.
• Q. Can I drive after using XALACOM eye drops?
  XALACOM may cause temporary blurred vision or other visual disturbances. Avoid driving or operating machinery if your vision is affected.
• Q. Can I use XALACOM in both eyes?
  XALACOM can be used in both eyes if prescribed by your ophthalmologist. Follow the instructions provided by your doctor.
